An academic resource for a published professor

Professor Reitano came to Lindsay Hill Design with a very outdated and buggy WordPress website. Professor Reitano is a distinguished professor in his field who has published an extensive amount of academic literature with more on the way. He was hopeful that a new website would help showcase his accomplishments and bring renewed attention to his academic publishing. In his spare time, he is also enthusiastic about cooking and wanted to add a “human” side to the analytical field of Quantitative Finance with some videos highlighting his cooking recipes.

Visual Direction

Client discovery started with creating 3 user personas that encompassed Professor Reitano’s target audience. During a collaborate discussion, we were able to create a robust picture of these personas and I learned a lot about the field of Quantitative Finance.

After our personas were finalized, I developed two mood boards influenced by our guiding adjectives and user personas. While our client liked both directions, he felt his goals were more aligned with moodboard #2, Classic Academia.

The Website

For our website design, we included a masonry layout for the various sections of the home page. A full introductory video course on QF, a timeline of key QF figures as well as a section to show off his cooking skills!
